2016 Balfour Leadership Training Workshop (LTW)

This year’s workshop will focus on implementing the Preparation for Brotherhood pledge program to all of our chapters throughout North America. We will continue to develop strategic planning processes for each chapter through facilitated discussion with the chapter’s leadership team. Each team will then use its framework to help the chapter complete a Strategic Visioning Journey to refine the plan and create buy-in.  In addition, each officer will undergo position-specific curriculum and leadership development.

The Sigma Chi Fraternity seeks alumni volunteers to facilitate at LTW. The volunteer's commitment and responsibilities will be as follows:

  1. Actively participate in and complete the facilitation training program (short, web-based e-learning content, webinars, and conference calls) designed to prepare facilitators with the skills and knowledge required to train undergraduate brothers;
  2. Attend Balfour LTW (July 28-30), arriving a day early for additional facilitation preparation;
  3. Facilitate small group discussion among your division small group and mentor these undergraduates throughout the 2016-2017 academic year;
  4. Facilitate the creation of a preliminary strategic plan by your assigned chapter for the 2016-2017 academic year and mentor this group through implementation of the plan and the Preparation for Brotherhood program; and
  5. Advocate for our Ritual and values-based leadership approach, stress the importance of the eradication of hazing, and emphasize those themes throughout your mentorship role.

If you're interested in volunteering, please let an alumni chapter officer know.
