Monthly Alumni Lunch - February 2015
ALL Sigma Chi alumni are welcome no matter if you went to school on the east coast, west coast, in the midwest or the south. Spread the word and please pass this invitation along to any alumni who would like to come.
Featured Sigma Chi guest speaker: US Naval Officer Brenton Schiffer, University of Texas
Brother Schiffer attended the University of Texas where he graduated with a BS in Aerospace Engineering in 2009. While at the University of Texas, he became involved with the Alpha Nu Chapter and served as the Pro Consul and the Consul. As Consul, he lead the chapter through the re-charter process.
Upon graduation, Brenton joined the Navy and reported to Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI where he received my commission on March 26, 2010. He then completed 15 months of academically rigorous training in nuclear power plant theory and operations, submarine combat tactics, and leadership before reporting to USS Hampton (SSN 767) on December 4, 2011.
Brenton completed two deployments to the Western Pacific and the Arctic. He has served as the Main Propulsion Assistant and the Assistant Weapons Officer with collateral duties as the Ship's Diving Officer and the Peacetime Weapons Safety Officer. In March, he plans to pursue his MBA.
