Brother William Ovitt Enters Chapter Eternal
William Smith Ovitt, age 86, passed away at his home in San Diego, on November 7, 2012.
Bill was born in Washington, D.C. on July 14, 1926. He was a World War II veteran having served with the Armored Infantry in Europe and received the Bronze Star. He graduated from the University of Maryland where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bill was a Special Agent in the FBI and retired in 1976 after 25 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Mary Langmead Ovitt. He will be greatly missed by his children, Smitty, Rob, and Kathy, and grandchildren, Lauren, Maia, and Edie. A special thanks to Jessica Battle and Nancy Riggs for their unwavering friendship and support. Memorial Service: Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m., Northminster Presbyterian Church, 4324 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego, CA 92117. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your local Meals on Wheels.
