Sigma Chi Welcomes 350,000th Initiate
SAN DIEGO (March 14, 2020) — The Sigma Chi International Fraternity reached another significant membership milestone on Saturday, March 14, surpassing the 350,000 mark of all-time initiates and members into the organization.
Alejandro Mundo, SAN DIEGO STATE 2019, a graduate in finance, was officially welcomed as the 350,000th initiate into the Fraternity during the San Diego State chapter's reinstallation. Grand Pro Consul Tim Sanderson, WESTERN ONTARIO 1985, presented him with a special badge, customized for the occasion by Herff Jones.
"[During] an already special weekend for alumni and members of the Delta Xi chapter at San Diego State University, which saw its official return to campus with the Sigma Chi Psi colony's installation into the Fraternity, we are thrilled to pin brother Mundo as our 350,000th all-time initiate into Sigma Chi," said Sigma Chi executive director Michael Church, ILLINOIS 2005.
Previous milestone members include No. 200,000, John Delaney, UTAH STATE 1994, and No. 150,000, David Ingalls, ALABAMA 1980.
